Having the opportunity to get out of the car, stretch your legs and explore on foot is an experience many are turning to in order to enhance there safari experience. Walking options can be aimed at getting more of a cultural experience, hiking or game viewing on foot all these options are available. The Ngorongoro Highlands is a destination many are using these days getting the chance to see the Empekai crater Olmoti Crater and magnificent views of Mt Oldonyo Lengai. We also offer options of visiting new areas such as the Usambara mountains and the Pare mountains.

A walking trip is best mixed in with other activities as the distance covered on foot is minimal and so limited to a specific location. It is normal for walking trips to be based from one camp for a couple of days in order to get the most out of an area before moving on.

Game viewing on foot is a very specialized activity and one not taken lightly. If your desire is to get out on foot looking for those elusive creatures than you need to make personal contact with Dave and talk through the options. This activity is a lot more expensive and is conducted from remote luxury camps. As an experienced walking guide Dave can advise you on how best to go about this and will most likely be the guide taking you on this section of your safari.

Cultural walks are led by Tanzanians from the area you want to spend time in and so lots of interaction is had. We try our best to create genuine experiences and don’t like to manipulate situations. When things develop naturally you will appreciate them a lot more and all parties will feel happy and relaxed.
