KILIMANJARO ROUTES.
13 Days Kilimanjaro and wildlife safari
Day 1 . Arrival in ARUSHA.
Meet with our staff at aiport then transfer to hotel/campsite for
overnight.
Day 2 . Machame Hut.
Drive to Machame gate, the climb begins at the rain forests to the
Machame Hut, (3000m, 6hours).
Day 3 . SHIRA HUT (3800m)- BARRANCO HUT(3950m)
-After breakfast a slow walk through semiglacier and sandy areas with
picnic lunch 3 to 4 hrs before
arriving at the Barranco Hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 . BARRANCO HUT(3950m)- BARAFU HUT (4600m)
-After breakfast, with picnic lunch enroute climb through glaciers for
approximately 4 to 5 hours before arriving the Barafu Hut for dinner and
overnight.HB
Day 5 . Barafu Hut.
A short scramble to the top of the great Baranco and then a traverse
overscree and a ridge to the Karanga valley 4000m,3hours,Beneath the
icefalls of the Heim, Kersten and Decken Glaciers, After climbing out of
the Karanga valley the trail ascends a ridge to the Barafu Hut. A Bleak
location with little vegetation at 4600m, 3hours walking.
Day 6 . Barafu Hut.
An early wake up call around 01.00hrs for preparation and light
breakfast before starting final ascent to the summit i.e. either the
Stella Point reached in approximately 5 to 6 hrs and a further ascent to
the Uhuru Peak reached in another approx 45minutes. After
signing and short rest at barafu hut descend via the Gilman's Point down
to Mweka hut for an hours rest with light breakfast then descent down
for dinner and overnight at Mweka hut. FB.
Day 7 . MWEKA HUT(3100m)-MWEKA GATE
-After breakfast, final descent to Mweka gate, thereafter say Goodbye to
your Guide/Porters and
connect a private transfers to Arusha for dinner and overnight at
lodge/campsite
Day 8 . Ngorongoro.
Depart Arusha with your packed lunch for Ngorongoro Afternoon game
drive. Dinner and overnight at lodge/ Campsite.
Day 9 . Ngorongoro Crater.
Breakfast at the lodge the collect your lunch box descend to the crater
floor for a full day game viewing, Picnic lunch at taken at the crater,
hosts unbelievable variety of wildlife. This is an experience to
treasure always. Ascend back to the lodge/ campsite for dinner and
overnight.
Day 10 . Serengeti National Park .
Breakfast then depart Ngorongoro wit your packed lunch for vast
Serengeti National Park . Stop at Olduvai Gorge, the site for the famous
archeological finds by the Leakey family. Afternoon game drive inside
the park. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11 . Serengeti.
Breakfast followed by morning game drive to different parts of the park.
Serengeti is famous for it's annual migration when millions of
wildebeest (gnus) and zebras set off for Maasai Mara for better grazing
grounds and water. Serengeti boasts of more than 35 species of plains
game including the "Big Five" as well as extensive bird-life. Meals and
overnight at the lodge/ Campsite.
Day 12 . Lake Manyara National Park .
Early breakfast in Serengeti and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park
with parked lunch. Afternoon game drive inside the Park, look for and
shoot a picture of the curious tree-climbing lions, Lake Manyara has a
marvelous concentration of game including 350 species of birds. See the
Simba River populated with schools of Hippo and bird-life. Dinner and
overnight at the lodge/ Campsite.
Day 13 . Arusha.
Breakfast in Manyara and depart for Arusha with lunch en-route arriving
Arusha in the afternoon. Board your flight to your next destination/back
home.
